Auto Engine
Built for busy people and teams—turn repetitive desktop work into one reusable automation run.
v0.2.0-betaCross-platformLightweight & fast
How It’s Different From n8n
- Focus: n8n excels at API/integration workflows, while Auto Engine specializes in desktop keyboard, mouse, and window automation.
- Runtime: Auto Engine runs locally and manipulates the current OS UI, perfect for legacy software without APIs.
- Control granularity: Combine screenshot recognition, hotkeys, drags, and conditional logic to mirror human actions.
- Resource footprint: Tauri + Rust deliver tiny bundles and low memory usage, keeping long sessions stable.
- Image recognition: Optimized matching pipeline locks onto moving targets quickly, making fast-changing scenes (e.g., games) reliable.
What You Get

Describe steps with YAML templates or drag-and-drop blocks—like writing a checklist.
Reusable pipeline packs
Save once, replay anywhere. Share with teammates across environments.
Runs on every desk
Windows and macOS are supported out of the box—ideal for hybrid teams.
Lightweight & fast
Tauri + Rust keep memory usage tiny while delivering near-native execution speed for long sessions.
Try Auto Engine in 3 Steps
- Download & install: head to the Download page and grab the package for your OS.
- Import a sample pipeline: use the built-in samples or download from the plugin marketplace.
- Run & observe: press “Run” to see the visual timeline. Pause, retry, or duplicate the flow as needed.
Tip: run your first pipeline inside a test workspace so you can validate every action safely.
Popular Use Cases
- Reports & data entry: open tools, collect spreadsheets, fill web forms automatically.
- File organization: rename in bulk, file into folders, sync to cloud drives.
- Multi-step batching: combine screenshot detection and keyboard/mouse actions for flows that normally require constant clicks.
- Game dungeon runs: detect dungeon entries, auto-cast skills, and loop reward collection (respect game terms of service).
Check the “Use Cases” section in the sidebar for ready-to-run packs.
Upcoming Roadmap
- Ship the graphical script editor so flows can be designed with drag-and-drop and live previews.
- Launch a Wasm-based plugin system that lets developers publish reusable nodes.
- Enable advanced makers to build custom script nodes, encapsulating proprietary logic inside pipelines.
